30th MARCH 2020

Dear Friends,

I wanted to update you on the Friends’ position at the hospital due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Lucy Doig, our Charity Manager, has been keeping all our volunteers updated on a regular basis. After consultation with the hospital it was decided that all our services such as the Shop and Library Trolley ward rounds will cease. There will be no Book or Bric à Brac sales for the foreseeable future. Our Traders have been stood down.

The Friends Office is closed until further notice. From Wednesday 1st April, Lucy will be on furlough. If you have an urgent enquiry please email lucy.doig@chelwest.nhs.uk and we will aim to respond within 48 hours. Lucy will not be able to respond herself but will pass emails to me.

Please can you note that we will not be accepting Bric à Brac and Book donations until further notice.

The health and welfare of our volunteers is of great concern to us and we thank them all for their unwavering support.

We truly hope this is only a temporary situation, but the Trust has a huge task ahead and we don’t want to hinder them.

In line with Public Health guidelines the Trustees have agreed to the postponement of the AGM on May 2oth until the health position has improved and guidance is made clearer.

We will of course keep you updated on any changes to our arrangements.

Thank you for your understanding.

With very best wishes

Hilary O’Neill
