On 13th November we were honoured to be invited to visit AMU2 ward at West Middlesex Hospital to hear about how their Butterfly Room is benefitting end-of-life patients and their families. This is the second Butterfly Room that the Friends has funded at West Middlesex, following the completion of seven rooms at Chelsea & Westminster.
Many thanks to Acute Medicine Consultant Dr Ashkan Sadighi, Hospital Director Mark Titcomb, and the whole Palliative Care team for taking the time to speak to us. It was moving to hear how the AMU2 Butterfly Room is providing a comfortable and peaceful environment for patients in their final days.
More detailed information about the Butterfly Room project can be found on our End-of-Life Care page.
My old man is in there just now. He’d be happier if the tv worked. Apparently its been broken three years.
I am sorry to hear that. Please email us at at chelwest.friends.office@nhs.net with further information and we will take it up with the ward staff.
